Yosemite

Early November in Yosemite is quite spectacular (and no crowds)!

We didn't stay here, but we did go for the Sunday brunch buffet.
Yum

Next time we're going to Nevada Falls too.

This last one was taken at the gas station in Chinese Camp,
which is not too far from Copperopolis.

Pacific Northwest

Last weekend I was up in Seattle and the San Juans. A bittersweet trip. Got to spend time with some of my best friends, but also mourned the untimely passing of another. The first two pictures are from the ferry ride to Friday Harbor.

Found this one thanks to the Rognebys!

October memories

This time last year, give or take a couple of weeks, I was in Europe. First in Paris and Zurich visiting friends and family.

Then biking in Eastern Europe with 100+ Backroads folks. Wish I was there now!
These first three are from Slovakia:

These next ones are from Krakow:

Out of State

Mexico city has really good tamales. (Excellent tacos too. Excellent a lot of food!)

Feeble attempt at a segue here...these two were taken north of the border
California border, that is. Newport, Oregon

2006, the early days

I got my digital camera for Christmas in 2005. This is the first sign picture I took in 2006.

This is the second:

and a couple more from around the Bay Area in early 06.

Tour d'Organics

I highly recommend the Tour d'Organics to anyone looking for a great bike ride through beautiful country with amazing organic food (it really is all about the food!) I'm planning to do it again next year. These pictures were taken by one of my century ride buddies (who is also tandem rider extraordinaire).

Where the idea began

The inspiration for this blog came on a hike in the Berkshires on a humid afternoon in early September. I'd been taking pictures of signs for a while, and always had an idea that I'd do something with them someday. Thanks for the idea, E.

So to start, here are the signs from that trip that got the ball rolling.
